Over last ten years Amal Trust has been organising National Qur’an Competitions, football tournaments and awards ceremonies to recognise, appreciate and enhance competitive skills and the quality of recitation of the Holy Qur’an and promote our young Huffadh and football players from all backgrounds to reach their true and full potential. These events have been supported by a broad cross-section of Muslim organisations, leaders, local authorities, interfaith groups and members of diplomatic corps. Through the years guest speakers have come from across Europe and different parts of the world. These have included Simon Hughes MP, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Lord Ahmed of Rotherham, Ahmed Thomson, Football personality former Chelsea player Eddie Newton, Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP, Deputy Mayor of Westminster Borough Cllr Anne Mallinson, Cllr Nicholas Paget Brown, Deputy Mayor of Harrow, Delegates from the Haroon Yahya Science Research Institute of Turkey, Dr. Adel Abasse and Dr Nasim Butt, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Dr Abdullah Hakim Quick, Dr Yusuf Islam, Freddie Kanoute and many others.
